Hi! I’m Kali Malikah.

… a certified Yoga and Meditation teacher. I have practiced yoga and journeyed in the world of yoga for over 25 years, from motherhood to menopause. Guided by the needs of my body, mind, and soul I have learned to embody a practice that is truly mine.

I am the essence of unconventional. I have lived many lives in many places with many people. I came into my own in Los Angeles during the ’90s when music was my life (and still is), I learned then that I would never fit in and I stopped trying. When I stopped trying to fit in, I realized that I was meant to stand out. Over the years there have been times that I forgot that, my journey is to remember it, always.

My approach to life is the immersion method, if it piques my interest I dive into it. Behind every role or interest is a long story, one you may or may not understand or hear. Each of these phases is like the moon waxing, waning, and delivering a new light.

I AM…Mother, Model, Music lover, Fashion designer, Concert Producer, Traveler, Teacher, Homemaker, Lover, Herbalist, Expatriate, Repatriate, Stargazer, Camper, Girl Scout, Student, Teacher, Yogini, Marketing Manager, Entrepreneur, Wife, Divorcee, Artist, Master Gardener, Daughter, Knitter, Friend, Muse, Woman, Human, All, Nothing, Everything.

Acknowledgments

I practice and teach yoga which has been developed, practiced, and preserved by the indigenous people and traditions of India. It is a practice that has seen its development and endurance into our present day by many faithful devotees of the yogic lifestyle worldwide.

I acknowledge practicing and teaching yoga on the unceded indigenous homeland belonging to the Tongva and Chumash Nations, located in what is now called Los Angeles. I practice and teach with respect and gratitude for the Tongva people who still are the caretakers of this land.
